# Type Case > Two fonts for one thing you are making. Describe the piece - a menu card, an invitation, a landing page, a > poster - say where it is read, type its real headline and some body text, and set them in a letterpress case > of thirteen open-licensed faces. Get three pairings proofed in your own words, or a keep, tweak or swap verdict > on the pair you chose. URL: https://type-case.skillsafe.ai/ API: https://type-case.skillsafe.ai/api.html Built on: @curiositech/typography-expert (https://skillsafe.ai/skill/@curiositech/typography-expert) Model: gpt-terra, metered per run. The case, the composing stick, the proof marks and the exports are free. ## The case Thirteen faces, each under the SIL Open Font License, bundled as latin subsets from Google Fonts. Display only (headings, never body text): Young Serif, Instrument Serif, Abril Fatface, Syne, Shrikhand, Caveat. Text or display: Bricolage Grotesque, Newsreader, Literata, Zilla Slab, Hanken Grotesk, Atkinson Hyperlegible, Space Mono. X-heights and average lowercase widths come from the font files. ## Free, in the browser - The composing stick: any heading face and body face, any weight the face has, any size, set in your words. - Proof marks: a display face set as body; body under a rule-of-thumb floor (16 px on a screen, 12 px printed, 24 px on a wall); a heading less than 1.25 times the body; an estimated characters-per-line for the venue's column; an x-height gap between the faces; characters outside the bundled fonts. - Exports: CSS for any pair (with the Google Fonts @import that loads both faces; other sets ride along commented out), Markdown with a link to each face's Google Fonts page, JSON, print. Print and wall sizes also show in pt. - Free size fix: when the body is under the floor or the heading-to-body ratio is under 1.25, one button lifts the sizes without a run. ## Metered lanes - pair: verdict `pairs` (exactly three: safe, character, wild card - three different heading faces, body always a text face, sizes above the floor) or `ask-first` (when the piece is three words or fewer with no mood and no body text; two or three questions, no guesses). - check: verdict `swap` (body is a display face, or a face plainly works against a word in the mood or avoid fields), else `tweak` (body under the floor or heading under 1.25 times the body; same faces, new sizes), else `keep`. The page re-checks every reply: faces only from the case, weights the faces have, body faces that are text faces, sizes above the floor and the ratio, the verdict against what the page can measure, and no names or numbers the brief and the case do not hold. The floors and the ratio are rules of thumb, not standards.
